Sammy

Until the day he died, Spalding had not been sick a day in his life. He passed away at home. Spalding got his CGC and then stopped earning things. He got a novice agility title in CPE and then stopped winning things. He retired from agility the afternoon he entered a tunnel at a fun match lay down and took a nap in it. He was no HIT dog, but he was a real crowd pleaser: on the field, at the park, wherever he went he made friends. This dog, who never really did anything extraordinary, was our one in a million. He was such a gentleman, such a joyful, happy dog.  -- Toni Barnhart and Perry Armor

Tia loved to play.
Totally focused on me, even when my other dogs charged the fence to warn off intruders, Tia kept her eyes on me, "Throw me the ball! Throw me the ball!"
No fear on the teeter. Played the bang game loud, louder, loudest, while Whiskey and Coco ran away.
Speeding up on the dog walk, making me book-it to reach the end in time.
Banking out of the tunnel during Andrea's seminar.
Howling when I left her in the xpen, because she wanted to be in the middle of the action, because she wanted to be with me.
Tia made agility seem easy, and life a lot more fun. -- Melissa Schelling

For Wings.

You will live on in my heart
My dearest friend so true
And memories of you will find my mind
Until we dance again when I go to you

Sammy my beloved cattle dog passed on June 29th. He became sick on June 16th and fought so hard to bring his blood platelets up and rallied for one last weekend that he was able to be at Micki's during a lesson. He was such a good boy and was my first real agility dog. Although I had no handling system he did his job and very well in spite of my poor handling. He would always win the touch and go class and almost got a high point, With tears in my eyes I write this as I miss him so much. Farewell my beloved friend I'll see you later. Love you.
